Graphic medicine is a newly emerging method of communication from health and medical professionals, folks with stories related to illness or disability, and cartoonist & artist alike.
This portfolio showcases five graphic medicine projects that explore health literacy through both narrative and informational storytelling. These projects were designed with a focus on multimodal styles of writing and aim to promote a deeper understanding of various health-related concepts. The work included reflects different approaches to communicating medical and health information, while also aligning with the course’s learning objectives.
Each component of this portfolio aims to target different medical scenarios and disability characteristics in order to help facilitate an improved health literacy outcome.
All components of this project were created using an Apple iPad, Apple Pencil, and the application Procreate. All work is through a digital drawing medium but is entirely my own.
